                 A performance featuring Guillaume Combet, violin, Debra Harder & Gilya

                 Hodos, piano, Michal Schmidt, cello, and Adeline Tomasone, flute

                 Levering Mill Tribute House

 

April 15 – A look at the Romantic concerto - Rachmaninoff 2nd piano concerto

 

May 13 – What about a concerto for an entire orchestra? Bartok, Concerto for Orchestra

Musicianship Classes

 

Sept. 18, 2011; 12-1 and 1-2pm

An introduction to our semester theme and encompass “The Role of Women Composers”.

 

Oct. 9, 2011; 12-1 and 1-2pm

In preparation for the “Beyond The Score” concert, our October 9th class will include a discussion of the Theme and Variation form as well as an introduction to Elgar’s Enigma Variations

 

Nov. 13, 2011; 1:45-3:30 at the Bala Cynwyd Library - 131 Old Lancaster Road, Bala Cynwyd - (610) 664-1196. Parents, students and siblings of all ages welcome and encouraged to attend!!!

 

The November class will attend a fantastic, hands-on concert at the Bala Library by the outstanding Brazilian duo – Minas. They will be performing and teaching the audience Brazilian rhythms using a wide variety of drums that people will be able to use! This should be a very exciting hands-on concert!

 

Dec. 11, 2011; 12-1:30pm
