Welcome to the Lower Merion Women's Choir. We are a choir comprised of women that sing exclusively for women. Our group performs a wide variety of Jewish-centered repertoire in many different languages.
The choir was founded in 2013 by Gilya Hodos as an outlet for women in the Greater Lower Merion community to have an opportunity to make music for themselves and share their inspiration with other like-minded women.
Reading music is NOT required to sing in the choir. Our group is comprised of women from a variety of musical backgrounds. In addition to our weekly rehearsals, all singers are provided with both the sheet music and an audio recording of their individual parts.
Our group has two annual performances - one in December and one in the mid-spring time. Often, we are invited to give additional performances.
Rehearsals take place in Lower Merion on Tuesday evenings from 8:30pm -10pm.
There is a fee for each semester which covers the cost of music, insurance, administrative expenses, and a stipend for the director/conductor.
Please feel free to contact me for further information and to schedule an audition.
